Launch of CymruX - Young Plaid Cymru

Although CymruX's youth organisers are both a bit tired after the Conference and the launch of CymruX there's no let up in the work as we continue to prepare for the freshers fayres, our first conference, and more social events of course...! The Launch of CymruX young Plaid Cymru was a great success with a great meeting on Thursday 15 September.

We were given inspiring and encouraging speeches in the launch by Adam Price MP, Leanne Wood AM and Gwenllian Landsdown. There seemed to be a huge amount of excitement generally in the Plaid Cymru conference regarding the start of CymruX - our pocket policy guides, our new branding and our website was the main talking point throughout the weekend. It was very encouraging to us as a new movement that Dafydd Iwan gave such attention to CymruX, and the importance of young people in his conference key note speech. Helen Mary Jones was also extremely supportive in her speech, and brought much attention to the success and effectiveness of our new brand and website. Without such support from members and leaders of the Party, the launch wouldn't have been such a huge success. We are very grateful for all of the support we have received.

There was a lot of press attention to the launch of CymruX. The coverage was very positive. CymruX had a lot of attention in the Western Mail, as well as on National TV (Manifesto and Waterfront).

And if this isn't enough! - the launch gig in the Cwps was a great success - the Cwps in Aberystwyth was full of people of all ages. Big Thanks to Alun Gaffey, Ieuan Wyn and Gwilym Morus for their great sets, and to everyone who came to enjoy a pint (or two...) More gigs and social events are on the way, starting with a CymruX and Cymdeithas yr Iaith Gig on the 1st of October in Clwb Ifor Bach, Cardiff with Mattoidz, Sleifar, Tangwystl and DJ Cynan Llwyd.
