Cymru X Forum at Plaid Cymru's Conference 22/0/06

Members of Cymru X discussing issues that are important to young people in Wales. Forum members include three Assembly candidates for the 2007 elections.

Cymru X were very busy at Conference this year, what with organising a fringe meeting, showcasing the DVD, a week with Jill Evans MEP, walking on stage with Dafydd Iwan before his keynote speech, and taking part in the Forum. The Conference was full of excitement and was hugely successful. In the Forum, we discussed Plaid's new policy proposals for young people- providing £5000 in match funding for first time buyers to put down on a deposit for a house, and also a policy proposal of helping to pay off student loans if graduates stay in Wales for 5 years after they graduate. Nerys Evans, Steffan Lewis,Gwenllian Lansdown and Bethan Jenkins were on the panel. They also discussed ideas on how to encourage young people to take part in politics, and Cymru X's role in making this a reality.
