Cymru X calls for a Welsh Federal College
On March the 14th and 15th, UMCA is organising a protest outside the Senedd, calling for a Welsh Federal College. AS its protest in 2004,the students intend to sleep in front of the Senedd overnight to draw attention to the cause. Members of Cymru X will be camping with the studetns and supporting the protest for a Welsh Federal College.
Jonathan Richards, a member of Cymru X's Executive Committe said:
' UMCA has written a policy document on the need for a Welsh Federal College and are now very eager to intensify the campaign. Jane Davidson has had enough time to plan a strategy fro a Federal College since the protests started in 2003,but sh has not responded to the students. This is atrocious.'
Mabon ap Gwynfor, Chair of Cymru X added:
' Welsh education in our Universities is very weak, with a very small number of courses available completely in Welsh. Receiving education through the Welsh language is a basic right, and the Labour Government should act to ensure that Welsh education is integrated into organisation rather than left on the outskirts of Universities' policies. Cymru X is proud to be able to join in the studetns 'protest, and support them in the fight for a Welsh Federal College.'
