On Saturday the 18th of March members of Cymru X will be taking part in an anti war demonstration in London. They are set to join thousands of protestors in a campaign to pressurize Tony Blair to remove soldiers from Iraq and to demand that he does not launch an attack on other countries such as Iran.
Mabon ap Gwynfor, Chair of Cymru X said:
' This protest is important because we want to see and end to the illegal war in Iraq once and for all. We must inform the people of Wales, England and Scotland that tropps are dying unnecessarily in Iraq and that over 10,000 innocent Iraqis have did in this war. We protested against this war in 2003, and we will continue to protest against theactions of Tony Blair and the Labour Government.'
He added:
' The money being spent on fighting the war in Iraq should be spent on developing our health services, in making reality students' demands against top-up fees by providing education free for all, and in creating social facilities and centres for our youth. We cannot justify this war on financial or moral grounds. March 18th is an Internaltional Day of action against the occupation of Iraq, and Cymru X is glad to be taking part in such action- for peace and justice worldwide. Adam Price MP for Plaid, who has worked tirelessly against the war will be speaking at the rally, and will be joined by Cymru X members.'
