A right - not a privilege
Unfortunately the Labour government doesn't see it that way. Even the Fib-dems jumped in to be with Labour in Scotland and introduced a graduate tax - tuition fees by the back door.
We believe in a free education system whereby students receive GRANTS, not loans while they study. we are against tuition fees and top-up fees and oppose the marketisation of Higher Education.
Everyone should have the choice of a university education
But we also believe that greater importance and funding should be given to create apprenticeship schemes for those who don't wish to pursue an academic degree. This will provide young people with highly skilled careers and combat shortages in many skilled fields.
The young people of this country face a housing crisis which has worsened under the Labour government.
Buying a home
By now most young people can't afford to buy a home - even if they are earning a reasonable wage.
CymruX will put pressure on the government to develop a national plan so that young people can afford homes - through community trusts, preference on housing stock to local people, and establishing an association between work and home.
Rented houses/Student housing
There needs to be greater control over landlords to ensure a high standard of rented accommodation. Universities also need to be lobbied to ensure that they don't price students out of education with rocketing rental prices.
International cooperation and understanding has never been more imporant than it is today.
most people did not want this country to invade Iraq - but Bush and Blair did it anyway. Iraq has no link with 9/11 - but thousands of innocent people were still killed in the apparent 'war on terror'. This kind of foreign policy has directly caused more terrorism in the world.
CymruX will campaign to increase tolerance, both domestically and internationally and bring an end to racism.
We will campaign to stop the government's support of unlawful US foreign policy.
We will campaign against attempts to curb our civil liberties e.g. ID cards.
Our belief is that we, the people of Wales should have the right to determine the destiny of our own nation - plain and simple.
Only by having full law-making powers can we really make a difference to the lives of everyone who lives in Wales. We want Wales to stand side by side with other nations of the world, and play an active role internationally as a forward-looking, fair and peaceful nation.
Independence for a reason
Independence is not just about changing the head of state or flag, it's about changing society too. Self-government within Europe will enable us to improve society for all its people - not just the rich. With independence we can implement truly socialist policies that benefit everyone.
The country needs a proactive strategy to tackle the energy and environmental problems that we encounter now, and which we will inevitably encounter in the future.
Recycling
Rydym angen hyrwyddo pwysigrwydd ailgylchu a lleihau gwastraff yn y cartref ac o fewn diwydiant. Mae'n rhaid i'r llywodraeth ddarparu cyfleusterau ailgylchu ledled Cymru, a chynllun i gasglu gwastraff i'w ailgylchu o bob cartref.
Renewable not Nuclear
We support other organisations' attempts to promote and develop alternative and renewable sources of energy. We say No to nuclear power, and Yes to pushing for proper financing and development of alternative energy such as wind, solar, tidal and biomass. It is also vital to raise awareness of cutting pollution and saving energy in the home.
Every culture and language in the world is valuable
They provide colour and diversity to an otherwise boring world. In Wales we're proud of our long history of welcoming people and cultures from the four corners of the world to be a part of our country.
We strongly support other countries who are striving to maintain their own cultures and languages.
The Welsh language
Wales is a bilingual country - which is the norm in most countries around the world. We believe that everyone in Wales should have access to everyday services in both Welsh and English - this is currently not the case. At the moment legislation on the Welsh language is decided in London!
We will campaign to ensure the government transfers these powers to Wales.
